In my humble opinion of course......
(Note: I'm not doing this a certain way. Just whatever movie(s) I happen to watch. I happened to watch this last night.)
For those that don't know what Mamma Mia! is about, here's a little summary (taken from www.bn.com):
Longing to discover the identity of her true father before she exchanges her wedding vows, the daughter of a once-rebellious single mother secretly invites a trio of paternal candidates to her upcoming wedding in this feature adaptation of the beloved stage musical. Independent-minded single mother Donna (Meryl Streep) has always done her best to raise her spirited daughter, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), while simultaneously running a successful hotel on a small Greek island, but now the time has come for this hardworking mom to finally let go. In just a few days, Sophie will be married, and Donna will stand by bittersweetly as her little girl takes flight. Of course, Donna's lifelong friends Rosie (Julie Walters) and Tanya (Christine Baranski) will both be present at the wedding, but unbeknownst to the mother, Sophie has furtively invited three very special guests of her own. When Sophie walks down the aisle on that fateful day, she wants her father to hand her off. The only problem is that Donna has never revealed the true identity of Sophie's father, leaving the resourceful future bride to narrow the list down to three potential candidates. Now, as three key figures from Donna's past return to the picturesque Mediterranean shores they all walked 20 years prior, one beautiful bride will discover the secret of her past while one lonely mother finds out that it's never too late for a little romance.
001. It's a musical! I love musicals! Hell, I am a walking musical! ((When my friend watched this, she was not aware that it was a musical. Her question: Why the hell do they keep bursting out in song?))
002. In some parts of the movie Sophie and her friends remind me of how I am with my friends.
003. Donna and her friends are exactly what my friends and I will be like when we're older. Seriously.
004. I will probably be like Rosie when I get older. A hermit cookbook author that is basically in heat....minus the cook book. I can't cook worth a damn and would probably burn the place down if I tried. No, my books will be fiction.
005. It's friggin ABBA songs, I mean c'mon! You'll be dancing around by the time Money, Money plays.
006. The relationship between Donna and Sophie is great. I've read many reviews that say they found them both annoying, I personally thought they were perfect in the mother/daughter relationship.
007. The hotel set in Greece is BEAUTIFUL!! Seriously the scenery and bright colors in this film couldn't have been better. I wanna live in that hotel -- falling apart or not!
008. It only lasted for maybe 30 seconds -- if that, but showing the possible dads in how they looked twenty years ago was hilarious! Espeically Colin Firth.
009. OooOooo YOU CAN DANCE! YOU CAN JIVE!! HAVING THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE!! OooOooo SEE THAT GIRL...*clears throat*......moving on......
010. Meryl Streep still has it and I don't think she'll ever loose it.
